Kilimanjaro

9 days • 4 People and above • From $ 2,730 • Tanzania

The Lemosho Route is Kilimanjaro Escapes' premier choice for climbers seeking the perfect balance of scenic beauty and high summit success rates. Approaching the mountain from the remote west side, this route offers unparalleled solitude during the initial two days as it meanders through lush rainforests and across the vast Shira Plateau. The standard 8-day itinerary ensures exceptional acclimatization by employing the "climb high, sleep low" strategy, incorporating key landmarks like the Lava Tower and the exhilarating scramble up the Great Barranco Wall. This extended approach significantly boosts success rates to around 90%, making Lemosho the ideal route for those who prioritize a comfortable pace, magnificent panoramic views, and the best possible chance of standing atop Uhuru Peak (5,895m).

As we ascend, the forest recedes, offering our first spectacular, unobstructed views of Kibo Peak and its glaciers. This section involves a challenging but rewarding climb up the Shira Ridge, followed by a gentle descent to the campsite.
